About Us

Families and Children are able to build a practice together, stretch & relax and learn many important lesson all while smiling and having a great time.
Yoga for all ages helps with concentration, focus, self-esteem and awareness. It builds a sense of self and community that will get them ready for a lifetime.
About Maxi
After 15 years of yoga practice, trainings and teaching, Maxi has put together what she believes are the most important parts of teaching Yoga to children and families. That it is fun and comes from the heart so that everyone will be their best yogi-selves.
Maxi is an Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and has a B.S. in communications from Boston University. She has been a life-long athlete including running marathons, playing softball, volleyball and several other sports. She spends most of her time with her husband Drew, stepson Jeremy (age 12) and infant son Jordan (age 6 months) playing... running, biking, basketball and baseball. She has found that Yoga has been the perfect balance of her athletic, spiritual (‘be a nice person’) and professional life.
Maxi is certified through Karma Kids with Shari Vilchez-Blatt to teach yoga to kids and teens. She trained in Post-Natal / Mom & Baby Yoga with Jyothi Larson (author of Yoga Mom, Buddha Baby) and is certified to work with Children with Special Needs by Craig Hanauer and Leah Kalish. She has completed Pre-Natal Training with Juliana Secches and most recently studied the Kundalini based yoga training, Radiant Child with Shakta Khalsa. Maxi is certified in Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED.
Her own yoga practice has included studies in Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Restorative and Ashtanga. She has completed her 200 hr adult teacher training studying under Kelly Morris in the Conquering Lion Training program with a focus on asana, meditation, Buddhist and Tibetan studies. Her studies continue with courses through ACI (Asian Classics Institute) and YSI (Yoga Studies Institute) as well as any training she can find on how to work with children to transform their lives.
About Marni
Marni believes that yoga is a gift, life-changing, and fun!
Yoga has a tremendous capacity to improve children's physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. Yoga cultivates patience and kindness toward ourselves and others; it helps calm our bodies and our minds. Yoga improves health, sleep, focus, self-confidence, and resilience. Yoga enhances communication skills and reduces bullying. Yoga helps young athletes win with humility and lose with grace, and gain strength and flexibility.
Marni provides a fun and imaginative environment filled with support and encouragement. Children feel safe, respected, and find enjoyment and success in a non-competitive physical activity.
Marni has been a highly requested pre-K through 3rd grade teacher in both public and private schools in Los Angeles. Marni has been a yogi for the past six years and is dedicated to teaching yoga to kids of all ages in the most fun ways imaginable!
Marni holds a B.A. from the University of California at Santa Cruz where she graduated with honors. She studied Child Development at the College for Developmental Studies, where she earned her California Teaching Credential. Marni enjoys raising her daughters, Rebecca (17) and Noa (13), and spending time with them and her husband, Peter. |
